Aloha kakou, The folks at Kamehameha Extension learning have made the entire Nahenahe series available - on 8 CD's, for a total of $20.00, which already includes postage and a binder. What a deal!
The series was 8 one hour radio programs, each taking a song and discussing it in depth, language and meaning, interpretations, etc. It included different recordings of each piece. The one show I heard in Honolulu was great -- incredibly valuable material that you can't find elsewhere (unless you're someone like Robert Cazimero, who hosted)
The order form can be found at the Kamehameha Schools website, http://nahenahe.ksbe.edu

i listened to the show about maui - the first one in the series - and thought it was great. the song on that show is "waikapu" (also called "`iniki malie"). the first version of the song they do is by teresa bright. does anyone know who is playing guitar on that album (lei ana) - maybe teresa? i've never seen her perform. the guitar behind the song is very nice.
aloha, keith
