Sorry Jeremy...G4 is the G above middle C, C4 is middle C, E4 is the E above middle C and A4 is the A above middle C. (The 4th string will be G3, or the G below middle C, if you're playing with a low-G string.) If you downloaded the tuner app I posted the link for then you can set it up for ukulele tuning using the G4 C4 E4 A4 note designations.
(BTW, a standard-tuned guitar is E2 A2 D3 G3 B3 E4.)

Duke Hana, Maui Keola's C-wahine Because it's pretty and because C is my singing key and because I'm finding I can play all the songs I like in it. I especially love discovering minor chords and other off-the-beaten-C-path chords and attempting to modulate to other keys. Key of F works, if it's simple, G too. Favorite instruction book is Keola's blue book (can't think of the proper title).
I've been playing in C Ni'ihau or C G D G A D for a couple of years now. Try it out and you'll find it has a lot of harmonic check points to work with.
