Aloha e,
I'm kind of new to the forum and spotted Andy's member stats. I was rather stunned to note that most of the folks here are 'somewhere' in California.
If the subject didn't look like gibberish to you, you're likely in So. California.
I'm in the Diamond Bar area - what, anyone here? Eh, I lazy drive to Torrance like that.
Also, what, you like sing too. Cannot just play you know, da music is not da music without da words.
So, drop a line, whatevers. I'm kinda looking for guys to play slack key with. I've been stuck in taro patch for about 30 years. I've played in quite a few more tunings, but taro patch is definitely popular for a reason - aw shucks, it's SO popular that even country folks copy it on their banjos, although they somehow lost a string, shaved off half the neck, stuck a peg in the side, and cranked another string up an octave, at least they were CLOSE.

If you are ever down San Diego way the Southern California Slack Key Society meets the 2nd Monday of the month. Uncle Tim from the LA area will be in San Diego Wednesday and a bunch of us are meeting to play at one of our members home in San Marcos.
