Aloha Everybody Finally got myself to get back in to our Taropatch ohana (altho I've been lurking regularly). After I saw the latest stats, I discovered my last post was way back in September 24th!
Just coming out of an incredible and heartbreaking period. Lost my Brother and my Daughter-In-Law to cancer within a 90 day period which took me to Dallas and Vancouver, Canada back and forth during the past five months.
So just slowly getting settled in again and first things first - to get back here at Taropatch, although I've tried a couple of times to drop by at our Waihee jam but wrong timing. For now, I'm enjoying my daily slack key sessions with my new Apple Software - the Garage Band. The software allows me (among other exciting things) to select one or more of the 1000 pre-recorded loops in my powerbook and play along with my guitar or ukulele or both. It's a blast!! It's like a band (or orchestra) backing you up

Sorry to hear about your loss Ed, but glad to see you back. I'm a fellow Garage Band user, although I haven't had much time to mess around with it yet. My 7-year-old daughter did put together a pretty impressive instrumental piece using the loops though!
BTW, if you want to add more drums, check out Drums on Demand. I also hear that Apple's Jam Pack is worth the money. |
Craig My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can. |

Aloha Ed,
Welcome back to da patch! So sorry to hear you lost some of your ohana.
It was a time like that in my life I embraced the healing power of kiho alu and getting more music in my life. Keep playin' my friend!
I'd like to hear what you end-up doing with Garageband. I've been eyeing it too and it'll be my next toy for sure.
Have you or Craig checked-out:
http://www.macband.com
It's for Garageband users for share files. How about I start a topic for GarageBand and we can all hear more about it from you guys.

Thank you all for your kind words.
We now take comfort with the thought that my brother and my daughter-in-law are finally and eternally in a beautiful place in Heaven. |
