Ok, guys - I can easily import analog into my mac and work with it that way, but I am now confused about the Net MD - does it use small round discs that are playable on a cd player, or are they square "mini floppies"?

NetMD is just a data-transfer scheme that Sony has presented as a way of competing with MP3 devices. A NetMD unit has USB input and the circuitry to accept the data from a computer; otherwise it's like any other MD unit, and they all take the square-jacketed minidisc media.

If you need to transfer data from the MD to your pc, I've found the best method is Music Match. Very simple user interface.
