Okay, I'm not sure what kind of response I expect here, but I felt you folks would appreciate this more than the people around me (and they're already tired of hearing about it!). We just booked airfare for a 10-day visit to the Big Island Nov. 7-17. Yahoooo!
This will be our third trip to the Kona area, but the longest continual visit there.
Any suggestions as to what to do, who to see, things to definitely not miss to enjoy the best Hawaiian kine vacation? I play (the word is used quite loosely) ukulele so I definitely plan on the Aloha Friday morning at Keauhou Shopping Center which KonaBob is sometimes at. And malasadas at Tex's is a requirement. Anything else?
My wife and I run a web site about the Big Island, Tonya. Check out http://www.konaweb.com I hope we will get to meet you folks while you are out here. I am usually at Keauhou from 10 to 11 - sometimes longer. But check THIS out! http://www.kahilutheatre.org/ukulele.htm Shirley & I are definitely planning to be in Waime for these events! Maybe we could meet for dinner up there...
Your website has been on my bookmark list since my last visit to Hawaii. It's great--and in fact I'm using it to investigate our lodging options.
Thanks for the heads up about the institute--what a great bonus for our trip. I contacted the theater and they told me that there will definitely be workshops in conjunction with the concerts, but they don't have the details worked out yet. They told me to keep an eye on the website for the information.
