Hi folks --
Hoping someone can help me here, I'm trying to track down the title/composer of what I think is a Hawaiian steel guitar tune. I'll do my best to describe it and hope somebody here picks it up. It's very cliche to put behind gorgeous video of Hawaiian sunsets, etc. -- a swoopy ballad. I've searched a bunch of "best of" albums and hit some sound-alikes, but not this specific tune.
This is a bad system, but what the heck:
h = half note q = quarter note 8 = eighth note r = rest top line is the pitch, bottom is the duration.
C G | r F G Ab G F | C G h h | 8 8 8 8 q q | h h
Even if you can't ID it at least let me know if you recognize it so I know if I'm getting it across well enough. Sorry if this is really annoying, but it's the best I could do!
Thanks in advance!
-- Dave

Hey!
Couldn't load the pdf, but the midi file is very nearly it, only additional thing is that there is a schmalzy slide between the C and the G in the first measure, but your midi captures the gist of it.
Unfortunately, "sounds kind of familiar" is where I am with it too. :-)
Thanks for the step forward, the midi's a big help!

Awful hard to guess from the very few notes provided, But I could make those notes fit with a tune call "Black Orchid" if they were sped up a lot. This tune is not done on a steel guitar but uses a lot of sliding on a regular guitar.
First composed and played by Peter Moon.
Anyway - just a guess.

Ohhhh, thanks for playing our game, but that's not the answer we were looking for. . . :-)
A bit like Black Orchid, but that's a much more straight-up jazz tune as I remember it. This has a distinctly Polynesian vibe, at least in the cuts I've heard. . .
Thanks though!

Sounds like "Sleepwalk" to me. Not a Hawaiian tune per se but often played on steel guitar.
You can hear a sample of Bobby Ingano playing it here:

Wait past the intro to hear the riff you posted. |

It could also be 'Born Free'. |
