I just purchased Ray Kane's Learn To Play Ki Ho'Alu. Great stuff on there, but would like to know if he ever produced any tabs with this particular DVD. It looks like he has an older VHS tape that might have most of them that accompany the tape, if I'm not mistaken. However, I am looking specifically tablature for Nani Ho'omana'o (in D Wahine), but some of his other arrangements like Pauoa Liko Ka Lehua, Lei Nani, and Ulupalakua, and of course Punahele, interest me too . I looked at some of the old posts regarding this subject, and all points led me back to probably contacting the Kane's to see if anything else was made. Craig (cpatch), you seem to probably know something about this subject, judging by the posts I've read. Actually, if anyone out there can help me, that would be wonderful!

Aloha Maggie...there were never any tabs produced to accompany "Learn to Play Ki Ho`alu," either for the DVD or the original video release. Some of Ray's arrangements are available in tab elsewhere, however ("La Paloma," "Nanea Kou Maka," and "Punahele" are in Mark Hanson's book for example).
It's on my to-do list to transcribe the songs on this DVD but it's not going to happen for a while. |
Craig My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can. |

Thanks Craig for your quick reply! I will look in Mark Hanson's book for these tabs (I had forgotten they were in there until seeing some of these recent posts for Nanea Kou Maka!). In the meantime, I will keep rewinding my DVD and try to figure some of these out.
