Sweetwater, a major dealer of pro & "pro-sumer" audio gear, has started a thread about recording acoustic guitars in their "Technical Tip of the Day" archives.

I'd suggest anyone with an interest in this area tune in. I've been subscribing to their newsletter for years simply to get the tips & "Word of the Day" definitions, and I never fail to learn something new.

I think the thread will run maybe three weeks. The first installment is fairly basic - they'll be covering mics & placement soon, plus mixing techniques, etc.

Here's the url: http://www.sweetwater.com/insync/techtip.php?find=02/04/2005.

Just so you know: I am not affiliated with Sweetwater, or any other retailer. Nor is Andy. Nor is TaroPatch. It's just a usefull site.

cheers,

Mark

That's what I'm talking about! Good info Mark. It starts off nice and easy.

There's also a great place to go called www.recording.org The home recording threads can be very valuable.

Mahalo.
