Aloha!
I will be in Honolulu the nights of June 15th and 16th and would really like to take my friends with whom I am staying to hear some nahenahe slack key. I haven't been to O'ahu since 1978 so have no idea what's even there. When I asked my friends they said, "Oh, you have to go to Maui to get good Hawai'ian music".
Mahalo!!

Aloha Nancy - there is a "Moonlight Mele" at the Bishop Museum Great Lawn, starting at 6 PM. You can get details at www.mele.com.

See you soon!

Excellent music featured that night -- Maunalua!
http://www.mele.com/v3/artcat/maunalua.htm

You'll need to take along something to sit on (the performance is open air, on the great lawn of the museum). There are food vendors, so you can have dinner, too. Order tickets in advance (these performances usually sell out).

Auntie Nancy,
You will love Maunalua. You MUST introduce yourself to Bobby (guitar) and say a BIG Alaskan HELLO from me. He is a wonderful guy, and the rest of the band are great, too.
Get their self-titled (and first) CD, before you go.
I am now really jealous!
I hope you get a lot out of the camp. One of these days.......

Eh, Uncle!!
Camp's full.... wish you'd be there, but we'd have too much fun!!! Hope to see you again - either here or there. How're you and Hapakid gettting along with the cyperkanikapila?
Thanks - we'll be sure to make the intro and buy CD.
