Well, I guess it's not USVBA anymore...
but seein' some great volleyball.
Men and Women's open championship tonight...some great stuff.

Karen and the BLT (Bertha Lynn's Team (50 and over, defending womens's champs) start tomorrow! Bertha is 86, still suits up for a senior team---is our sponsor and the grandmother/matriarch of a family of serious players.
Karen stepped in last year for Bertha's daughter Patti, a former Olympian, who passed away this year.

Anyway, These girls HATE to lose. Meanwhile Karen's competitive without too many obsessive distortions.
But given a choice, I want her on MY team!
Anyone else in Denver for the Tournament?
G

OOps - I asked the question in the wrong forum - will have to go back and correct. My friend won bronze in over 55, and silver in over 60, and a plaque for all-tourney, all-star team in over 60.
Wonderful for Karen and the powerhouses she plays with!!

Gordon,

I was best man at Patti and Mike Bright's wedding in Chicago. She was a fantastic athlete and a wonderful person.

Before every game, the ladies presented a yellow rose to each member of the other team--and kept one for themselves...in honor of Patti.
...
It was great seeing this team...Patti is missed and in their thoughts both on and off the court.
