Congrats KB. I had one of these and spent nearly $1200 trying to get it to sound like a National (including the cost of the guitar) because I couldn't "afford" the real thing. I finally gave it away in disgust. Looks like you found the right fix. |

Hey Bob, Glad to see you got your Johnson back in your hands; it looks great! Wow, look at the flame on that fingerboard! Real Puuurty! Glad the tone is to your liking too with the new cone and neck.
I hope you have a long and rewarding relationship with your new lap guitar. I'd like to hear it too! |

Hey KB. I know you're getting ready for camp, but I met this luthier on Kauai, Tom Owen (www.wailua-instruments.com) who makes interesting guitar, uke, harp, resonator combos. You may know him; I think in passing I mentioned your "stick" and I think he knew about it. Didn't know Dennis L, though. I've seen his stuff and he does a pretty good job. Makes Weisenborn-like square necks and tri-cone style square necks and regular resonators (wooden bodies). Next trip to Kauai, I'm going to talk to him about a tricone round neck. |
