Kia ora,
I've got an 8 string Lanakai spruce top tenor, with a wound low G.
This string resonates far to loudly for my liking probably due to the natural resonance of the uke itself.
Does anyone have any experience with other string combinations on multistringed ukes?
There are obviously many permutations and combinations I could use including making it a 5,6 or 7 sting?!
Anyone got any good ideas to start me off?
PS my new Ko Aloha concert is now overdue but am waiting patiently for it!!

Try another unwound G string tuned unison, ala mandolin. The chords will still be full ( although the lower string won't be there ). 8-stringers are great instruments, plenty presence.
