Just in case some of you are curious about playing 3 string slack key bass - and yes, it is ridiculously easy - I have burned a bunch of DVD's titled "A Quick Lesson on the Kona Walkingstick 3 string Slack Key Bass". I will be bringing some copies to Cerritos (Southern California Ukulele Festival) and to the open mic at the Espresso Garden in San Jose. I also have them on my web site. It is not really slick, but it is educational and kind of fun too.
I spend every Friday morning in Kona playing the bass with Uncle Willey's ukulele group. It seems like every week, someone comes up and thanks me for holding the group together. Like I say - It's a kick.
