So, I looked through all the headings for posts in this forum and found only one that addressed the material ussed and that was lead-filled glass slides. I have a Stevens bar with stright ends. i have seen varous bullet shapes, flat ones with knurled or is it gnarled sides, brass, stainless, regular steel, straight tops, rounded tops, wooden handles, etc..
OK, so tell me what you like and why.
Thanks

Karl

Hi Karl,
I think there are two main types, bullet and flat-sided. I've used both, but I like the bullet because you can tilt it up and play single string quite easily. Some flat sided models have curved up ends. The flat-sided ones are easier to pull off.

Hi Karl,
A happy medium has been reached with the Shubb SP-2. You can grip it like the Stevens Bar, and it has a rounded nose like a bullet bar, so it doesn't catch on the strings.
