I have a dear friend who has been a wonderful ukulele player (musician with a Hilo Halau). His dialysis shunt changed his left hand circulation so that he can no longer play ukulele. I want to find a reasonably priced autoharp for him to try. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been watching ebay but wonder if there's anyone who has one stashed away .. sometimes when you have one stringed instrument, you find yourself suddenly with many...
I don't own one but have done a bit of research since I was going to buy one for my wife so she could play along with me. This one does not require the awkward cross arm strumming technique for flatop playing.
I have taught several people with bad arthritis to play my Walkingstick Bass. It only has 3 strings, and if you play it across your lap, like a steel guitar, you can play it with the side of your hand - without using your fingers. It is a great accomaniment for a ukulele group. Please email me if you are curious about it. Aloha, -Konabob
