It is with deepest sadness that I let you all know of the passing of Haunani Bernardino. Haunani was a colleague, friend and inspiration to many of us here at UH-Hilo and throughout the state. She was a gifted musician, composer, arranger, and educator, and will be deeply missed.

I'm so sad to hear this news. I met Haunani back in the 1970's. She was teaching the adult education Hawaiian language classes at the Chaminade university campus. Such a friendly woman. I'll miss her. "The Kaimana" album she did with HAunani Apoliona is still one of my favorites. Aloha 'oe.
