Good news! Keoki Kahumoku's newest album -- RISE & SHINE -- released to retailers earlier this week (and IMHO, it's his best, ever). So if you didn't get it while he was on tour, now's your chance!

So, of course, I had to run right out (well, actually just to the computer) and order it from Auntie Maria. This is a very good CD. Kekoki's voice is so full and rich. It is a good selection of interesting songs and the mix keeps your attention. The mechanics of the instrumentalization are superb as is the heart and soul put into the playing. I am sure this will be an award winner for Keoki.

I am fascinated by the mele Hi`ilawe and listen to as many interpretations of it as I can find. Keoki's version is very dynamic. His rendition of Wai`alae is raythmic and smooth at the same time. And how fun is "Taro Patch Twist"!

Mahalo, Keoki for sharing your talents with us....even all the way to the frozen North Coast of Ohio.

Me ke aloha
Malama pono,
Wanda
