Wanted to give a plug for the upcoming Texas Uke Fest.
Two slack key players from the Houston Slackers group I play in (Jim Garson and Scott Alley) will be giving an introductory workshop on Slack Key guitar as part of the Texas Ukefest in San Antonio. The workshop will be on Saturday, April 21, 2007 from 1:30 - 3:00pm.
Following that from 3:00 - 5:00pm the Houston Slackers will be leading a Kanikapila jam. This is the same weekend as the Aloha Fest, so if you're in the area come on by.
Joyce asked me to do a workshop also, so I'm going to do one on playing Scruggs style banjo songs on the Baritone uke (also applies to other ukes as well), with a little info about slack key.
