It looks like John Yamasato Playing bass. I'll ask Timmy next Friday when I see him for music night at The Aloha Island Grille. |

Even though you solved the mystery of the the bass player, we'll still be seeing you at "Da Grille" this Friday. Last week the Chicken Adobo special was da bomb! Lot's of ginger, yum!! Always good times at "Da Grille"!! |

I go on You Tube every few days and search for slack key or search for hawaiian music. Then I have it sort by date posted, so I can quickly find the newer stuff. Timmy, it was just serendipity that I found it. I look at it as though I was supposed to hear your music at that point in time. And glad I am that I did.
Thanks for making beautiful music.
But P.S.: I wanted to know who was playing bass in that part 2 video of Uncle Dennis and Mike Ka`awa. |

Wanda, It's John Yamasato, former lead singer of Pure Heart playing bass. He was just here in Santa Cruz, playing with David Kamakahi and Herb Ohta , Jr a couple of weeks ago. |

Wanda, Mahalo for your comments... I am humbled and honored to know you enjoyed something that comes straight from my soul... I really like this quote by Willie K's Dad "Manu Kahai'iali'i": Kiho'alu stems from teh echo of the winds and the rattle of the leaves and the sweet sounds of our mountains"... Simply the most beautiful quote of what I believe Kiho'alu to be... And the foundation as to "why" I play it...Its natural, peaceful, calming, healing and takes you away...far far away... Mahalo once again for your comments! a hui hou, ke akua pu, Kimokea |
