FYI
For those of you that are interested in reducing squeaks--especially for recording.

I have been trying d'Addario Flat Tops for the first time and are these strings ever quiet. They are nearly squeakless even in long slides and are much quieter that Nonowebs--and flat tops are not coated. They are like, stealthy even!
I am not sure if I like the tone just yet, but they are so quiet I am going to give them a good look.
If you want squeak free playing, these strings will get you there.

Bob

Try Thomastik Plectrum's (they are flatwounds), they sound good on a Koa Martin.

I have to admit that I haven't used flatwounds since the 70's on electric solid-body guitars and back then I did not like the tone or the fact that they would go dead relatively quickly. I'm curious if they have gotten any better what with new technology and stuff. ";>)

Aloha,

FYI:
I decided I didn't care for the tone of these strings.
They are very quiet though!
