A lovely treatise on falsetto singing. Please take time to read the comments he has posted explaining about falsetto. The mele is Pua Lilia. He does not say who is singing. Do any of you know who this is? I bet Bill Wynne would know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0in3WVNwSA
A very interesting film made at the Hana Film Festival. Talk story with Keoki Kahumoku about slack key and with Dune about carving spear guns and spear fishing. Be advised that it is hard to listen to because of the background ambient noises, but it is worth listening to and watching. The spear guns are works of art. Just beautiful. Dune tells you about catching ulua. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-1Rb-4uC_c

I'm sure many falsetto aficionados recognize the voice. But since you asked me directly... It's a very young Joe Keawe. That was his first 78rpm single on the 49th State Record label, so it dates to approx. 1946.
