Cindy Combs, who lives on Kauai, gave a concert last Wednesday at Tamarind Square in downtown Honolulu. It was great. She is also playing at Kapi'olani Park today at 5:30pm. I am going again. I am a big fan of Cindy because she has able to blend acoustic jazz and slack key very nicely. As you folks probably already know, she has a Dancing Cat CD out.
Any other Cindy Combs fans out there?

Next month, Cindy Combs will be on the Big Island at the Aloha Hawaiian Music and Dance Weekend. I look forward to meeting her and learning some jazzy slack key. Don't have her CD yet but have heard her play on Christmas compilations. Still not too late if you want to go. |

If you have a chance, go to http://www.hawaiimusicians.com and go to the member's directory. Find her name and click on it. When you get to her member profile you will find an MP3 sample of a song she did in Keola's C tuning called "Maile Swing". It is AWESOME and it is a good example of the way she blends slack key and jazz. It is only a sample so it is a short clip. Give it a listen though, I guarantee you will like it!

fyi... www.cindycombs.com takes you there too. The site plays her song Maile Swing (& a couple other samples) which was a pleasant surprise. |

Eh! I hear you guys talking about me ovah heah! Thanks for talking nice! Thanks for all your support and encouragement.....priceless! I have posted a new topic clled 'Any Suggestions'. Please give it a read and reply if you like. I really enjoyed my last trip to Wahoo and the new bandstand @ Kapiolani Park is awesome. It's good fun to stand in the middle, look up, and spin around! Try it sometime (if you haven't already).
