Is there a good string set for a tenor that is low G and NOT wound? I'm NOT trying to emulate slack key bass, which I think is what a number of TP uke-ers like. I want a longer scale, but like the gentle unwound sound.

Try using Worths. You can get them from Musicguymic, Elderly or Uke World. |

It appears there are many Worth variations for tenor uke. Any comments on BT or CT models? (Or any other Worth low-G strings.) Those strings described as "harder" say they are preferred by people used to steel strings, which I am not. |

I prefer the clear hards. The extra hard feels a little "fat" and the browns and regular ct-lg feel a little "floppy". But they are all good. |

I had the brown on my KoAloha for almost 9 months and liked them but for some reason decided to try the clear hard when I ordered this time. They sound a little brighter maybe a little louderbut I do like the feel of them my son still hates them he uses wound strings sometimes I think he would use wound for all four strings if he could. Ah well to each there own. I have always played classical Guitar so never got used to steel and now love playing with the all nylon strings they just sound so mellow to my ear. I also like the fact that you get two strings in a pack nice to know you always have a spare. |

Always had the extra hard tension (C) Clear (T) Tenor low G Worths on my KoAloha(s). Never tried the (B) Brown ones though.

Nani I think Guadalupe are wound on all four if your son wants to try them. They are good strings but too squeaky for me. |

Does Mike at Altered Tunings still have the Worth? I am using the brown unwound for Tenor (BT) and am ready for a set... They come extra-- double length-- so you get two sets for the seemingly high set price. |

Got a set of browns at Good Guys on Kapahulu. Work well on my tenor....
Best set I've ever had, in fact.
