An amazing thing happened about six months ago: I found an amazing new family of friends at taropatch.net. Time spent chatting at taropatch has been time well spent. I have enjoyed getting to know all of you and learning from you. I have even enjoyed being put in my place from time to time - just like a real family.
I would love to give my new family a gift for the holidays. And since music seems to be the theme around here, no better gift than the gift of song. I rarely share my music because it never seems "ready" or "finished." But a recent exchange with a fellow taropatcher, Raymond, reminded me that perfection is overrated.
Last year, short on money and time, I had no idea what to give family and friends for the holidays. I repaired to my home studio and in less than a week had a full-length holiday CD. Less than a dozen people I truly care about have heard these songs. But, for my new taropatch family, here forthwith is a link to those holiday classics I threw together. They are not done in the Hawaiian style. There is no falsetto. (Sorry!) And only the occasional slack key or steel guitar was used. (True guitar aficianados will immediately recognize the primary influence on these arrangements.) But despite that I abandoned the Hawaiian style for this project, I hope these songs bring you some enjoyment nonetheless and instill even more of the holiday spirit in your hearts.
Thank you all for an amazing year and some of the most amazing human "connections" ever made - even at such a distance and in such a seemingly dispassionate medium as the internet.
Wishing you peace, love, and joy this holiday season...
Bill

Mahalo for your gift, Bill. We enjoyed listening to it very much while we were sitting here in our den all afternoon trying to set up our wireless home network! It helped to keep the frustration from taking over. |
Aloha, John A. |

Aloha nui,
Mahalo nui loa for sharing. I think ku'u punahele (my favorite) was "Po La'i E." Never knew you could sing bass as well as falsetto. I'm in love! No, jk. Hahaha!

Bill - what gloriously rich and vibrant music! Your chosen mix of songs and your arrangements are excellent. And of course, that silky voice! Ooooh, lucky you are that I am one old lady heart patient.
Your kindness and generosity in sharing this beautiful music with us is greatly appreciated.
