Kenneth Makuakane - Pili Mau Me `Oe - http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZVCwe_Jewl8
What kind of guitar, Kenneth? Does it weight about 900 lbs.? Now that bass player, I thought his name is Alden Levi. I thought that is who it is. We saw him playing bass with Martin Pahinui, George Kuo & Bobby Ingano last May at the Marriott. I have some pics of him that I took. I posted them here on Taro Patch asking for help because I was not sure of his last name, and Auntie Maria found out who it was for us.

Isn't that dedication to Alana so nice?

Reminds me of when he dedicated "'Alika" to me at the Makaha Sons concert in New Hampshire back in September. What a nice guy!

He kehau ho'oma'ema'e ke aloha.

BTW, I hear that the Sons may be returning to New Hampshire in September '08.

Aloha Wanda, Kenneth's been slamming with work, so I hope he doesn't mind me replying. That guitar is an Ovation. It's very light (I played with him the first few times he used it and got to noodle on it). Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi is one of the better known players who also uses a similar one. They're a bit cumbersome to play, but Kenneth's a big fellow with long limbs so it's a bit easier for him. Fortunately the body is very shallow as well. It's not a guitar you'd likely use for recording, better suited to live performance.
