Our babies are growing up! Little Kawika is now grown-up Kawika with a wife. David & Lisa were married on Saturday, March 15. I wonder if Dennis played Honeymoon Hotel for them.
Thereis a nice blurb on Harry B. Soria's web site, http://www.territorialairwaves.com/ If you look at his picture gallery, pages 8 and 9, there are pictures from the wedding. You can see how beautiful his bride is and see proud papa, Dennis, who was kahu.
And can you imagine the reception? What music there must have been. What??? No tarantella? What???? No Hava Na Gila??? Well, at least I hope you had the chicken dance.
Did they smash cake ini each other's face? Did he take the garter off her leg with his teeth?
Father of the groom has to pay for the booze. What's that you say, Dennis? Primo????

I was very fortunate to be a "sound guy" for David's wedding reception. It was a beautiful event with lots of wonderful people, music and food. I even got to do sound for Eddie Kamae, Dennis Kamakahi and Led Ka`apana at the same time! It was all very fun, except when I couldn't get sound to Greg Sardinha's steel guitar. Ouch!
And, finally got to meet Kevin and Ikaika Brown! Goodtimes. |

Aloha everyone,
Just wanted to say mahalo and aloha to everyone that could attend the wedding and reception. It was a special day for Lisa and I, and we will cherish this day forever. So many good memories, Uncle Eddie Kamae sharing a song at the ceremony almost made me cry. The reception was a blast with good food, great music, and even having one of my groomsman taking a nap in the lobby. (he was fine in case people were worried, he gave the best banzai toast later.) And there even was dancing which dad got on the dance floor and cut-a-rug...I was in shock. What a blast. Anyway the past few days now are spent laughing about all the wonderful memories from our wedding. So to all our friends in the patch, we love you all and we will see you soon. Aloha.

That has to be the best "first post" I've ever read, on this board or any other. Congratulations, David, Lisa and the entire `ohana! |

David - now I can tell you are one Kamakahi. Your Dad wrote Honeymoon Hotel, and here you are 5 days after your wedding, posting on Taro Patch. Now, I am an old married lady, almost 35 years already. I do think there is something that newlyweds used to do back in the day, instead of posting on a computer forum. Trouble is, I done forgot what it was. But you & Lisa try for remember. I bet you can figure it out.
Welcome to Taro Patch, and make sure you join us now and then. Congratulations to you and your lovely bride.

Best wishes David & Lisa. If Wanda didn't "Remember", she wouldn't have brought it up in the first place. Always the kolohe. Paul |
