Aloha e Jack! It would be good to see you. What is your time commitment up in Topanga? As usual, there will be some fine folks at Bob's in Gardena on Friday night and Sunday about 9:30 - 1:00 with good music. You know the folks from Friday, though last night someone new played, Al Cebalo (spelling??) from Maui. He's a long-time pro musician and treated us to music just a bit different than usual. Pete Kahele played the steel, and Simpy played the vibraphone. For a very unusual change, there were no ukuleles. Pete Naluwai plays on Sundays along with others - wish I could remember names!! I am expecting my first grandchild, a boy and am having a big shower here on Sat the 17th so am just not in a position to have a kanikapila. If he's not out bicycling, I would think that Scott Hillman would love to catch you at the Topanga event. We met him last summer at George's on Maui and he's a fine musician who started out as a banjo player and has slid into slack key very smoothly. My phone number's listed, so give me a call or send e-mail so we can hammer out details if possible. I assume you're flying in and out of LAX so we should have a chance to grab a bite to eat if nothing else. Aloha!!! nancy |
