Aloha, El Chavo.
You haven't told us much about your music - what you play, what's your style, how long you've been playing, your instruments, etc. Your "introduction" was pretty brief (just "New member here........" and nothing further).
Tell us more - are you introducing folks in Tijuana to the joys of ki ho`alu, o' wat? |

Retro...........I have been playing for about 6 yrs and consider myself an expert with the Uke.........I play a Johnson Soprano, and love traditonal Hawaiian music, I am a 50 yr old gay man living with a 10 yr old cat........My cat enjoys my music too..........Gig went well, but dont think the Mexicans know much about island music, dont know if I will do it again........ |

Thanks for the details - sounds like you might be a musical pioneer, the first to bring this music to new ears. Even if they don't "get" it at first, why not keep sharing, if the gigs go well? At the very least, you get to practice your songs, your stage presence, any new musical ideas you have before an audience larger than your cat. Congratulations! (And like Marzullo says - more advance notice and you might get some TP'ers out to support you, too.) |

Good to hear you're with us. I'm a traditionalist. But, you gotta check out the "Active Topics" for heated (funn, too) discussions!

el chavo, if you can get yourself up to either of the ukulele kanikapila in north county, it would be great to have you! one is run frank leong and is in encinitas on wednesdays at today's pizza on santa fe drive. the other, run by pat enos, is on - um, it keeps changing - and is held - um, that changes too - but captain mike should be able to tell us.
aloha mai, keith

The Ukulele Society of America is on Thursdays except for tonight when it is on a Wednesday becasue the venue was not available on a Thursday. We are at Ocean House in Carlsbad where the 101 and Carlsbad Village Drive meet above the blue Pacific. We meet in the Palm Room. Bill Tapia will join us tonight. From 6-9PM. |

So people have to choose between Bill Tapia (Carlsbad) and Brittni Paiva (Encinitas) tonight? |
Craig My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can. |
