I have several computer files of songs with the chord names (such as C7 or E flat) above the lyrics. I would like to convert those files to files with the chord diagrams above the lyrics instead of the chord names. There are several DOS based programs that do it at: http://www.jerrydallal.com/UKE.HTM. Does anyone know of a Windows (for Windows XP) program that will do the conversion if the song file is inputted into the program? Thanks. Richard
If I understand you correctly, you want to make lead sheets with uke fretboard diagrams? Like all the Jumpin' Jim books?
Most scoring programs geared toward guitar included fretboard diagrams, though not all support ukes.
I use Finale for all of my scoring work-- Not cheap or easy to use, I'm afraid. But it is one of the accepted industry standards, so if you plan on publishing, worth considering. I used to use Finale Guitar, but it is not currently supported for my platform.
I used Finale for all the scores in "Fingerstyle `Ukulele," which include fretboard diagrams.
I am sure there are dozens of other options, particularly for the windows world. But free? That I don't know.
