Hey folks,
By accident we have a sort of club or affinity group forming (go figure) ... some people getting together on the beach at Princeton, Half Moon Bay for Kanikapila. It's happened 3 times now. The weather and aloha have been great. I know the aloha will stay, the weather is on it's own.
Most popular songs last weekend: E Huli Makou, Kaulana Kawaihae, and (maybe) Not Pau.
This Saturday (Sept 6), 3pm: 100 Princeton Ave - on the beach behind the building. Look for the palm frawns.

We'll be there after 3 PM with ukes and a kite...
Last weekend a Luau broke out -- with a Tahitian canoe, even. You never know.
Tips: We usually bring a cooler. The Coastside Brewery sells "take away" bottles (22oz for about $3.75). There are good restaurants in the area for before of after. If you are picnicking, from the North Safeway in Pacifica is the last real (affordable) grocery before you get there. From the South New Leaf at Hwy 92 is a cool stop.
If can, can.

This would be cool...I am in negotiations with a certain LPGA member's agent with whom I have worked for several years. Two years ago, she (well, her former manager) shorted me over a grand. Our relationship has been strained, to say the least and I thought I was out of the LPGA spot for sure. Now they've come back to me and I kind of got 'em where I want 'em and we're talking story about $$$. Since they're (the ladies) playing at Half Moon Bay from the 2nd through 5th of October, I may be there. If it all works out, you will have one PoiDog show up on the 4th, with tenor ukulele. But like everything else...subject to change.
I know it sounds confusing, but...dat's my Potogee side. |

How interesting...
My spouse and I were just walking on Princeton Beach a couple of weeks ago, before having lunch at Half Moon Bay Brewing, and we thought that it might be a good kanikapila spot within the breakwater there.
Will be checking schedules now...

Aloha,
The sun is out and it looks like a great day for the beach Kanikapila. Shoots!
Hi PoiDog, give us a shout when you are here. You will likely be busy during tournament hours, but we are adaptable. Travel well.
Lawrence, I hope you make it. If not we'll keep you posted in the future.
Others, I just had to update my email in Taropatch, so if you've tried to contact me, the email has been wrong for some time. My bad.
Wherever you may be, I hope you can get out and play today.
Mahalo,

Hey Lawrence and others.
We had great fun. 85 degrees and clear weather. We played for 3 hours and then hung another couple of hours on the beach. Went, home and had a bonfire. Beautiful.
And again a Luau broke out - it must be the spot. I guess that people like to luau there.
We even had a Big Island resident join us - in town for a short visit.
One person had the Santa Cruz Uke club book. Anyone know a source for that?
We will do this again soon. It won't work for us next weekend, but maybe in two weeks we'll go again. I'll post it again. The Fall really is the best time here.
Anyone take a close look at the song "Anapau?" It's worth it. Anyone have a source for a recording of that?
Take care and keep playing.

Hi John,
I belong to the Santa Cruz Ukulele Club and could possibly get you copies of the books, number 1 and number 2.
Email me and let me know how I can send these to you...

Hey PoiDog,
Too bad you'll miss the tourney. It is really nice here now. That whole thing should be a big deal for us. Maybe we'll go play to see if Ukes can get on TV? ... Or maybe thrown out, or maybe some jail time....
"Play a uke, go to jail" ..... has a strange ring to it.
