They say, "A picture is worth a thousand words". Mahalo for 6 thousand words worth of beauty. Very nice. Makes me want to go there.

Nice pictures. I've got some just like them after an ice storm in September in Billings, Montana.

I've never been to Japan. Thanks for the beautiful photos, Dean. I would have liked to have made it down to Washington, DC to see the cherry blossoms but now it's snowing. Crazy April weather... supposed to get 4-9 inches today.

Mahalo for the beautiful pictures. With snow and ice here in CT in April... it's heartlifting to see such gorgeous blossoms. I love the ones along the water there... Beautiful!

Hello Dean, nice pictures. If you don't mind: I have several friends in Tokyo and I'm thinking of visiting there, later this month. I've been curious, what's the state of slack key in Tokyo, any idea? Also, are there any good Hawaiian-type places?

Oaklandslacker,

I'd also contact Jiro Kawami, aka LONGBOARDER,
who runs www.slack-key.com. If you read Japanese, you can post to his message board otherwise shoot him an email. He's a really nice guy and has organized several get togethers (mini-slack key crazy events) for slack key and `ukulele players in Tokyo.

Oak,

I'd go with Andy's recommendation. I'm not involved with the 'scene' here, so would be unable to give you any info. I also avoid the "Hawaiian" places like the SARS. You might also want to move this request for info into the General section to attract the attention of any others from TheBigHurt who may be lurking.

If you do decide to come, tho, drop me a line.
