Don't know. This came as quite a surprise since I just placed an order on Tuesday (for the limited edition Ozzie Kotani).
I do hope she is OK and that it is merely fussy servers and all the kukae we wrestle with in cyberspace.

Glad to report that MELE.COM has re-opened, and yes I'm okay.
DH (aka, Uncle Bob) had an unexpected medical emergency, and is now robotic -- with a CRT-D now implanted in his chest, keeping his heart beating beautifully! No medical history that could have alerted us to be aware, so the doctors at Straub think his heart was damaged by a virus at some point (we don't know when).
With medications, new diet restrictions, moderate exercise and this wonderful CRT-D, the cardiologist expects him to be almost completely recovered by summer (yay!)...and living a long, healthy life.
Got him discharged on Saturday, spent that night at the hotel (just to make sure he was okay), then flew home to Kaua`i Sunday. It's soooooooooo good to be home!

Auntie - I am happy that every thing is realtively OK. Modern medical technology is absolutely amazing. Funny after I had my by-pass surgery, they had me on a pacemaker, left 4 wires stuck in my chest and at bedside plugged me into the wiring harness, so to speak. They showed me that the pacemaker really does regulate your heart beat by turning the dial up like one remote control car. Zoom, my heart was revving up like one Corvette. Good thing they slowed it down for me. But at lest, I was lucky they took the wires out the day before I was discharged. It is a weird feeling when they go pull wires out of your pu`uwai while you are just laying there.
Paul and I both send our best wishes to you and Bob. The diet and the exercise are not really that bad. It is what we should be doing anyhow, although hard to modify one's behavior. And if he falls off the wagon, so to speak, no matter. Can get back ontop da buggah..
In a similar vein, we have just learned Paul's brother has prostate cander, but caught very, very early. He is expected to have a full and complete recovery because it was caught so early. He is getting some kind of radioactive seeds implanted that is supposed to kill the cancerous cells or keep them from multiplying until they die on their own. You were so right when you suggested men get tested. That is how David's case got caught so soon. Mahalo and aloha from Paul and I. |

Eh, Wanda, I am a prostate cancer survivor. It was caught early, in January of 1997 (12 years ago - not a bad result, eh?). I had external radiation around the prostate for 6 weeks, in case the cancer has leaked out, and then seed implants. The seeds are radioactive idoine in a titanium shell. They are spaced though the prostate for maximum effect. They can put in an order of magnitude more radiation than by blasting through the body with external radiation. Seed implants at the time were neww, but they looked very promising. My probability of survival was the same as surgery, with none of the bas side effects (incontinence, impotence, etc). bte - my current problems are totally unrelated to my prostate cancer. I'm just getting old, ya? |
