Aloha kakou!

Mahalo for all you kind messages and support, it kept me going during a very difficult time. I really appreciate it. This has been one of those experiences you never imagine could happen to you - or anyone else.

But there is good news, I am still at the Smith Ranch Care Facility, and will be re-evaluated on Monday for release; should go home on Tuesday. Can''t tell you how happy that makes me!!!! Between the three operations and the hospital and this place I haven't been home since December 11th. Talk about having some catching up to do!

Don't know how soon I will be able to drive - the range of motion in my knee is slow to return as it had to be immobilized for so long. But that's quite an incentive, and I'm working hard - that will continue at home.

John Thomas has just bee a rock through this, as has my family who are local, and friends like yourselves have been great. John brought me a tenor 'ukulele and my Baby Taylor so there has been some music - he started bringing an 'ukulele down to the P.T. lab on the days that he was visiting, and we had music to share. Yesterday we hosted an Aloha Friday, and the staff wore aloha shirts and had leis to give the residents. Who says recovery can't be fun.

Can hardly wait to see you all at the Workshop - booked a room and my ticket, this is a main goal this year for me, to be there with all of you. Put me down as present, please Nancy? It's one of three goals toward which I am working.

So mahalo for all your support, it warmed my heart. Ou hui hou, Cathe/Kaliko

PS. I can't seem to post a message on Taropatch - could someone leave a message letting our friends know that there is good news? I'd be grateful.

Hi Cathy,
We are all glad to hear that you are making progress. Getting yourself to George's camp is a great way to muster your energy. I just wanted to let you know that the next time you are in Kona, you won't have to brave the steep driveway at Sam's. We have moved the kanikapila to Keauhou Shopping Center, and it is not just easy to walk to, it is wheelchair accessible!
Aloha,
-Konabob
