Hi to Margaret & Mark - I too was in the beginning
uke class with Kaliko (also language) as well as
Raiatea. What a blast it was. Konabob with his
steel guitar class made the Raiatea class so much fun!
What a week! I hope there will be another Aloha Music
Camp in 2010. Great classes and amazing kanikapila
after hours! I too am Margaret but am using Marggrace
here.

Welcome to the patch Margaret.

There is lotsa Uke stuff and Slack Key stuff happening in the Bay Area.

A great concert by George Kahumoku, Dennis Kamakahi, and Richard Ho'opi tomorrow at Yoshi's in Oakland for instance.

Open Mics at Temple Bar (Aloha Sunday), once a month or so, if you want to try your hand a playing in public.

If not, you can go take group lessons from Hiram Bell in South San Francisco.

Go to:

http://www.keithpr.com/2jb/2jb0302.html

And sign up for Saichi's Newsletter that covers lots of happenings.

Also Auntie Maria's site has a concert calendar which you can look at to see who is comming to town:

Etc, etc, etc.

Hi "Other Margaret" - I've been playing like crazy since we got
back. I'm jealous you went to another camp already! My hubby, Dick,
took slack key at Aloha and we're working on some songs together and
having a blast. If you ever get down this way let us know!

Aloha from another of your neighbors, Margaret, and welcome to the Patch.

As Lawrence mentioned, there's a lot of music to choose from around here, especially this month with the Aloha Fridays at Gordon Biersch over on the Embarcadero. Here's another list:

HA HA - what a sweetheart he is. I can't believe
how much easier it is for me to understand the lyrics
of songs I've been listening to for years after taking
just those few language classes from him.

Hello Margaret,
Tom & I were able to see Keola & Moana on Wednesday night. It was wonderful to see them in concert together. We had a chance to say hello to them after the show and that was very nice, too. Hope you are doing well.
