Apologies for the problems with accessing the forums today. Apparently, there was something crazy going on at the server where TaroPatch.net resides which crossed up our forum.
Hopefully the problem has been solved. If you cannot access this forum or site, please email me and I will look into the problem ASAP.

Ha! I thought about that when I wrote it... so I haven't gone completely insane, yet. Good analogy. |

Apologies for further down time today. I was not able to access TaroPatch.net from ~10:45pm to ~1:00am. Still trying to resolve the problems that have been plaguing us for the last two days. |

Andy, I think my gremlin from a couple of weeks ago is visiting you now.

Hmmm, interesting. Yes, the gremlins are back.
"Don't ever get it wet. Keep it away from bright light. And no matter how much it cries, no matter how much it begs -- never, ever feed it after midnight..." (Sorry for the bad movie reference... where is Phoebe Kates Cates, anyway?) |

Ok, now I've gone insane. I accepted my friend's invitation to participate in a hi-tec race this Sunday. I just saw that the race is now the Balance Bar Adventure Race Series. I despise running and have never done it. I started training a few days ago, exactly one week before race day. I'm also fitting in this race between the HCF film festival this weekend.
If I don't post by Monday, please send a search team.
BTW, jwn - did you delete your post. I saw it this afternoon and now it's gone. Gremlins?!?! |

Hey Andy, you are truly pupule. A few days is not near enough if you start getting pressured to really run. Take it from an old long distance runner - listen to your body and don't compete with others. Let your breathing govern your speed - just like Taiji. Slow down or stop when you feel anything that is not right. I once stopped after putting out 19 miles in the NY marathon when I felt a foot tendon go - and then walked across town to Central Park. I surely did *not* feel ashamed of not finishing that time. You surely don't want to be hobbled when you go to The Islands in a few weeks.
Take it real easy, Brah.

Thanks for the advice Reid. I'll take it to heart. The thing that makes this race different from a traditional event is that it is a team event. The organizers test the teams' ability to work together. My biggest challenges will be the running portion and interacting with teammates that I barely know (one is a stranger). Why am I doing this again? Oh yeah, pupule. |
