In John Cruz's Island Style, there is a lyric that says " beef stew on the stove, lomi salmon with the ice". Can anyone tell me what the phrase lomi salmon means?

Lomi - massage

Lomi salmon, raw salmon rubbed with flavorings - tomato and green onion. Usually eaten with poi, very common at luau.

Isn’t it “Lomi salmon with the rice” or in pidgin “Lomi salmon wi da rice”.

The George Kahumoku Slack Key Workshop just finished up this week and although I wasn't there, big Mahalo to all the Kumu's and participants for posting and sharing videos and pictures of the going ons.. It was really cool watching Led's early morning Kanikapila's on facebook live.
