You might even spock another bearded guy besides Uncle Kihei! This other guy just might be playing music during dinner and he just might be playing with Mololani for the ho'ike when our halau (including yours truly) dances "Hanohano O Maui". |

This is really getting to be an amazing workshop. We have 77 haumana right now, and the list is still growing! Among the haumana, you will spot Amy Ku'uleialoha Stillman, who is braving the January roads in the Great Lakes region and driving down from Ann Arbor. Friday night, Aunty Mapu and Uncle Kihei will teach an oli. Saturday we will be taught a mele -- the story and language of the mele by Uncle Kihei and the hula by Aunty Mapu. Saturday evening is the big lu'au, silent auction, ho'ike and hula by the Merrie Monarch Dancers of Halau Mohala 'Ilima and music by Mololani. Sunday, we will be taught a hula kahiko. Still a wee bit of time left if you want to join us. Come on down!!! E komo mai! |
