A great opportunity for national exposure if Mr. Keillor likes you.
If he finds he doesn't like you personally, however, he can be downright nasty on air.
So, for those lucky enough to get such an opportunity, extreme friendliness and politeness is in order. He is the star and is helping you, not the other way around- whatever the performer may think. |

I've been listening to Garrison for better than 30 years and hearing gossip about his private behavior for nearly as long, and I've never heard him be "downright nasty on air." Off-mike, I couldn't say. But it certainly is entirely GK's show, which means it features people he enjoys and/or likes personally. Everybody I've talked to about him (and I've known a few show regulars personally and interviewd more than a few) says that he has big ears and good taste. As for the need for good behavior toward a major producer if you're a player, well duh.
