Every August, we escape to Lark Camp in Mendocino County, (California) and it is truly a magical escape. There is so much music, there are so many different genres, so many instruments, that it makes your head spin. You hate to go to bed because you might miss something! One night there was a Tuba Jam at 3 AM, just outside our RV!
Hawaiian, yes. Ukulele, Slack Key, hula. There is also Mexican, Celtic, French, Bagpipes, Marimba, Mandolins, Swing dances, Belly dancing at midnight, Swing vocals, clog dancing, and on....
And then there is Ukulele Happy Hour, where we get together, sing, drink and eat, while everyone is standing in line for the dinner hall, we are having a ball. Late at night we gather around the campfire and play and sing until we drop.
Mark Nelson teaches guitar and Ukulele, Kalae Miles teaches Hawaiian songs and hula. Check out www.larkcamp.com and look at all the classes and activities that are offered.
I'll be there. Wouldn't miss it for the world!
