Hi all,

I had a blast on Tuesday night. I arrived at the venue for sound check at 3pm expecting to jump up on stage for a song or two with HAPA since that is what we did in 2009. Barry surprised me by asking if I would like to open the show with a 25 minute set by myself. It was a lot of fun to open the show and then join HAPA for four songs during the hana hou. I still cannot believe that I played the Highline Ballroom stage in front of a packed house. Jake Shimabukuro has been swayed by the unique ambiance of the Highline Ballroom as well as marquee artists from Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and Carlos Santana to Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Amy Winehouse. I think Adele performed there a couple years ago. What an experience!

HAPA sounded great. Ron and Barry's voices blend beautifully. The guys played a mix of new tunes, covers and HAPA classics.

Here are some photos from my camera:

I love this photo that Devin Delano took... and I love the quote.

To stand up on a stage alone with an acoustic guitar requires bravery bordering on heroism. Bordering on insanity.

A quote from one of my guitar heros.

His intensely fingerstyle driven song "Vincent Black Lightning 1952" is a tour-de-force.
