 This week Pakele Live! with Tony Solis presents singer-songwriter Johnna Padeken.
Johnnaʻs passion for music began to develop when she entered college. Enrolled at the University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa and majoring in the communications field with an emphasis on video production, she soon found that music was overshadowing everything else. But it was while singing a capella at her sister’s wedding in 2005 that she realized that music, not video production, was what she wanted to do with her life.
In pursuit of her dream, Johnna has been playing regularly at venues throughout Oʻahu, as well as performing at many weddings, baby luʻaus, and other private events. Recently, the talented, multi-award winning producers, engineers & artists Shawn Pimental and Michael Grande of Koops2 Entertainment (Studio Ala Moana) – whose clients include many Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winning artists – took her under their wings to produce her debut album. Three singles from the album (“Enough,” “Away We Go” and “Love Me Right”) will be released this month.
Join host Tony Solis as he welcomes Johnna to the Pakele Live! stage on Thursday, February 9 from 6:30-8:30pm HST at the Willows Restaurant (901 Hausten St., Honolulu). Those who are unable to attend can watch the live stream at www.pakelelive.com. (The show will also be edited for television and shown at a later date on OC16 TV and www.oc16.tv)
Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. (Doors open at 5:30.) Guests may choose from the full nightly buffet ($34.95) or an a la carte menu created especially for Pakele Live! (and available only during the show), with prices ranging from $6 to $16. Drink specials are also available. Validated valet parking is available for $3.
