| What is the criteria by which entertainer(s) is/are included on the ballot for this award? I notice on the ballot that it also speaks of the recording that said artists have had issued during the year. This voting, however, is not for the recording is it? |

HARA members voted on the initial list of all eligible "entertainers" - meaning, artists who released recordings deemed eligible in some of the ballot categories (primarily the Island-based Hawaiian music ones) during the eligibility year. It's the fact that they released a recording that gets them to that list, followed by being one of the top ten vote-getters.
Since this is the one category open to the public, there's no particular restriction on what criteria voters can use in their decision; you can base it on that most recent recording, or their body of work, or your personal love of them, or on which island they reside, or how they spell their name...yay! |
