I thought it might be useful for each of us to see what others can play and/or are learning to play. (Also an opportunity for you lurkers to post something and qualify for this month's drawing!). Here's my current list to kick things off:

It's always hard for me to remember what I can play. My small repertoire of songs probably looks like a lot of other mainlanders because I've learned from the same books/videos.

I have a unique (for the east coast) opportunity to be part of a trio preparing to play for an October hula halau performance. We haven't practiced yet but I expect to play slack key along with two `ukuleles. We are hoping our 3 so-so voices will join forces to be an acceptable voice. (Wishful thinking?) Should be a lot of fun and will take me into some totally new repertoire. I'm really looking forward to it because it's an excellent opportunity to play with others not to mention playing with dancers.

I'm not sure at what point a song changes from "Working on" to "Known" but assuming it means I can pick up the guitar and play all/some/most of it without the tabs then:

I like that "Used to Know" category. 
Sometimes, I have totally forgotten that I do know a song -- it just went out of my consciousness but if someone reminds me that I know it, then I go Oh Yeah, I forgot I knew that one... 
So that makes another category "Forgot I Knew..."

Hey Chris, we should add a "Dreamed I Knew" category too. I've played some really nice renditions of several songs I don't know during my sleeping hours! |

the last time i saw kevin, he asked me to play the version of "isa lei" i have up on craig's page, and i couldn't remember part of it. so, we need a "I used to know and had to relearn it from my own recording" category too 
i'm working on ku'u lei awapuhi, iniki malie, and nanea holo malie. nothin' fancy, though, just some nice things to do when someone looks at you and says "you want to do one?"
PS stacey, sorry that i disappeared and didn't see you when you were down here; i'm becoming a candidate for the new United frequent flyer level - the "golden butt" level. it sounds like you all had a great kanikapila!

Yes, never worked through the tab note for note, though. I got the gist of the it from the book and then after listening to a recording of Led over and over, I sort of got it. Tried playing along and it's good enough that people recognize it as Opihi Moemoe. |

As I'm only a beginning slack-key player, (as well as on the guitar in general) like many others, I'm working through the Ozzie book.
After some quality time with the guitar today, I can safely say that
Kani Ki Ho`alu (Ozzie)
Manuela Boy (Ozzie)
are recognizeable at least, with room to improve. At least they sound better today than yesterday .
My journey with guitar started about three years ago with a trip to Kauai. The music has always been compelling, but a walk down to Hanalei Bay at sunset, and finding the McMaster's playing on the beach, for the joy of it, was the start of it. Definitely felt the meaning of aloha.
Only recently I've had sufficient confidence in my fingerstyle technique to attempt slack-key, and I am having great fun doing it.
We brought home an uke from our Maui trip this summer, both my wife and I are enjoying it also!
Thanks to the community of taro patch- its an inspiration! Its also nice to learn of so many members in SF bay area - I'm in San Jose.
