Check with Chunky Monkey. He is the unofficial President and Secretary of the unocfficial but fully functional Southern California Slack Key Society (SCSKS). We used to have a weekly Open Mike in Oceanside until the gas got expensive and the restaurant service waned.

Check out Kani ka pilas in Manhattan Beach. Folks come from further away than Costa Mesa. It's usually only about a 45 min drive from your place. Have kau kau, occasionally many different instruments, singers, learners, experts, mostly fun. Starts at 2:00, ends when the last person decides to go home. Also talk story. Not many surfers, but a couple. I live on Marine St (ave for address, st for surf spot), close to 26th street. E Komo Mai.

Aunty . . forgive me . . I was stuck on the San Diego connection. You have always been a very important part of the SCSKS!

Mahalo!
Hope to see you up in MB one of these days. Dusty and Gerry will be at their Maui home, but expect to see Bill and Vicki (Carlsbad, Rich).
Rich, we're looking forward to seeing you!
