KUSF's frequency was unfortunately sold by USF to a classical station, so KUSF, for now at least, is online only. They are attempting to get back their frequency through litigation. I'm not sure that their excellent weekly Hawaiian show followed them to the online KUSF-in-exile.

Hi Auntie, KZSC here in Santa Cruz is a 3 hour weekly block on Wednesdays. Wikiwiki Wendsay. 88.1 fm for those of us in the area. It's a low watt station so you're not going to be able to tune in if you're over the hill in San Jose.
Anyway, here's the playlist from this past Wed. Great diversity! Cheers (edit) - I realize you had this in your original list, I just wanted to give a shout out to the station! 6:03am Jim "Kimo" West “Aloha Kaua'I” from Na Lani O Maui-Maui Skies CD ALBUM (Westernmost Records 2011)Buy it!

While a resident of Aptos, I did the weather/news reports for the Sunday Hawaiian music show on KHDC (Salinas) -- and Lani Bandhauer was one of our biggest supporters. She and I became fast friends,, so when I opened my island-inspired shop in Capitola, she was the first person I hired. Was delighted when news reached me here that she had her own show at UCSC...wish I could listen to it online more often, but the danged time zone difference makes it problematic! |

The Seattle-area show on KBCS airs live (both on-air and on-line) Saturdays from Noon to 2 pm Pacific time, so if that one is at an inconvenient time for Island listeners, the audio is archived at the station's website (http://kbcs.fm) for two weeks - listen at your leisure! Maybe other stations could look into a similar temporary audio archive solution to the time difference. |

so when I opened my island-inspired shop in Capitola,
I'd forgotten about that. I purchased a couple of CD's from your store there. What was that, 1997? Bay/Porter right before the Highway 1 underpass. |

After sending a similar note to this out to several folks, I've been encouraged to post it here before the "event" occurs, so here's my beeg announcement ---
Due to a job opportunity that I am taking on in June (weekend morning host on KUOW in Seattle, the big NPR news station here), I'm afraid that I must step away from my hosting duties on the "Hawai`i Radio Connection" programs. It's simply a time conflict, as my weekend shifts run until 2 pm, so I cannot do the Hawaiian music shows any longer.
I've been a co-host on these programs on a monthly basis since January 2001. This is a difficult step to take, but I leave the program with countless fantastic memories of wonderful moments, ranging from in-studio performances to emceeing shows to just having the program open doors for me into connecting with the Hawai`i music community.
My final shows will be broadcast this weekend, on Saturday, June 1. (If you wish to try to catch them online, here's the details: 1) 9-10 am Pacific Time (6-7 am Hawai`i Time) live at http://www.kxpa.com 2) Noon-2 pm Pacific Time (9-11 am Hawai`i Time) live at http://kbcs.fm, and archived at the site for two weeks)
I plan to stay involved in the Hawaiian music world in some fashion - I am discussing several ideas and options with different people, and I will still be playing music and (I hope) producing Hawaiian albums with players in the Seattle area.

There's also KSER in Everett, WA (Seattle area). It's Aloha Friday (Friday afternoon) and Da Coconut Wireless, Sunday 5-7. They stream live on the Web. |
