Stephen's coming to town for this year's SoCal Slack Key Festival and we're holding a workshop for him in Manhattan Beach 10am - 11:30am Saturday January 19. $45/person, space is limited. Please RSVP to save your space.
If you're not already familiar with Stephen, he's one of the top guys in Hawaii today, Makana and Jeff Peterson were telling me about him from long ago. His CD with Dennis Kamakahi, ("Waimaka Helelei") won 2012 Nā Hōkū Hanohano “Slack Key Album of the Year”. His music has appeared in film and TV projects and his last solo project, "Slackinʻ on Dylan", won the Hawaii Music Award for “Folk Album of the year”.
Stephen has also contributed guitar work to albums by renowned artists such as Kenneth Makuakane and has toured with Slack Key Masters Dennis Kamakahi,Ozzie Kotani, Cindy Combs, Makana and Hawaiian Music Legends The Makaha Sons.
