Also this week, on Saturday 3/2, we mark the passage of Martin Denny in 2005 & Sol Ho`opi`i in 2006. Appreciate the treasures that are with us today, for who knows how long we will be fortunate enough to have the opportunities to learn from them.
Mahalo for the reminder. I can't believe, still, how fortunate I was to be able to see both of them perform in person. Meeting Auntie Genoa was such a highlight to me, and I will never forget Uncle Ray backstage in Boulder, with oxygen for our thin high-country air.
Miss them both.... and yes, highly value today's performers. John Koko's death reminds us how quickly they can depart. :(
