Here is something different. Last year, I received a call from the director of an independent film seeking an ʻukulele player. The film was funded on Kickstarter and filmed in just 18 days.

Last week, I attended a private screening in New York and really enjoyed it. I play "Pelvis" - you've got to see it to believe it. If you're in Seattle, the film premieres at the the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) on June 1-2. Otherwise, keep an eye out.

Andy, I have mixed feelings about your cameo role. With the huge popularity of the ‘ukulele, I’m sure there were many qualified little person uke players out there, but instead you had to take the coveted role. After all, isn’t the character “Pelvis” an abbreviation for “Puny Elvis”? I bet during the audition, you placed the available ukes on a high shelf so your competition couldn’t access them. What a bully!

Your disappointed friend,
Doug

More accurately, perhaps my character should have been renamed Chelvis... the Chinese Elvis. So will people laugh with me or at me?
