This is one of my favorite instrumentals, a 19th century mainland song that Leonard Kwan brought into the slack key repertoire. His stylings became the basis for Country Comfort's version of "Waimanalo Blues" and Ledward has recorded it a couple of times.

A buddy of mine builds custom guitars and she did a couple with a "steampunk" visual theme for this year's Healdsburg Guitar Festival. She stopped by on her way home and I got to spend some time with one of these new guitars, a koa and German spruce cutaway in a size she calls her Model F. The koa is really exquisite and the sound and playability were wonderful. It has huge dynamic range, a whisper to a shout at the touch of a finger.

Here's a link to the video clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeaK6G7fJD0

I recorded the audio with my new Zoom H6, I'm pretty happy with the way it's working.
